Applications involving OEM clients of Clark Solutions are designed based on the requirements of the end user. To reduce the sizing of process towers and vessels, our commitment is to design and manufacture high‑efficiency internals, resulting in lower fabrication costs and competitive value.
Our Process Engineering and Sales teams guide clients with personalized and dedicated support, analyzing all available technical and commercial information to select the best technology for each application.
Recently, one of our major clients consulted us about replacing the most commonly used random packing — the “Pall Ring” — with our 3‑Pack® packing, to be used as the contact medium to promote liquid–gas reaction in a neutralization process for gases from a wastewater treatment station.
Based on this request, one of our Process Engineers met with the client to analyze the data and develop a new tower design model using the physical/mechanical properties of the 3‑Pack® packing. Below is a comparative table of the referenced packings:
After modeling the new tower using 3‑Pack® as the contact medium for H₂S neutralization with a NaOH + NaOCl wash solution, we obtained the following outcomes:
With the results presented, Clark Solutions guaranteed the required H₂S removal efficiency as specified by the client, who also reduced equipment fabrication costs.
Additionally, the lower pressure drop achieved allowed for downsizing the exhaust system, enabling the use of a smaller centrifugal fan/exhauster with reduced energy consumption.
